Privacy Policy

Cullprit has no accounts, asks for nothing about you, and cannot tell who you are. What follows is the whole of it.

What the app collects

  • A random identifier the app makes up on your device. It is not linked to you, your phone, your email or any advertising identifier, and it exists only so we can tell one device playing ten times from ten devices playing once. Clearing the app’s data replaces it with a new one.
  • What happens in the game. Which game you opened, whether a case or a tutorial was finished, whether you opened the share sheet, and which platform and app version you are on, each with a timestamp.
  • Anything you send us through Feedback & ideas. That is the message you type, and whether you called it an idea, feedback or a bug. Please don’t put personal details in it — we don’t need them.

What it does not collect

  • No name, email address, postal address or telephone number.
  • No location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera.
  • No advertising identifier, and no advertising of any kind.
  • No third-party analytics or tracking companies.
  • Nothing is sold, rented or shared for anyone else’s marketing. Ever.

What stays on your device

Your progress is yours and stays on your phone: which cases you have solved, your pencil marks and crossed-off clues, your streaks, and which tutorials you have done. None of it is uploaded, so deleting the app deletes it. There is currently no way to move progress to a new phone.

Where it is kept

The little that is collected is stored on our behalf by Supabase, on servers in Europe, and is reachable only by Denella Ltd. We keep it while it is useful for understanding how the games are played and for fixing what is broken.

Playing offline

The games work with no connection at all — the puzzles are inside the app. A connection is used only to fetch the newest daily cases and to send the few things above. If nothing can be sent, the app carries on and the notes wait on your device.

Children

Cullprit is suitable for all ages but is not aimed at young children, and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13. There is nothing in the app that asks for personal information.

Deleting your data

There is no account to close. Everything about how far you have got lives on your own device, so deleting the app deletes it. To have the little we hold on our side deleted as well:

  1. Email contactus@denellapublishing.com with “Delete my Cullprit data” as the subject.
  2. Say roughly when you played and what kind of phone or tablet you used. There is no account to look you up by, so this is how we find the right records.
  3. We delete them and reply to confirm, within 30 days and usually sooner.

Nothing is kept back: the records are removed, not hidden or anonymised.

Under UK and EU data protection law you may also ask what we hold, ask for a copy of it, or object to it being held at all. The same address reaches a human: contactus@denellapublishing.com.

Changes

If the app starts doing anything more — purchases, accounts, or leaderboards with names on them — this page will say so before it ships, and the date above will change.
